“A seed neither fears light nor darkness, but uses both to grow.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo
I’d like to take a moment to honor all of the events and emotions and experiences you’ve had in your life that have somehow led you to reading this page. I know life ain’t easy sometimes, but what makes it more beautiful are the connections we make along the way.
If you are looking for a safe space to begin to journey deeper into yourself; you’re in the right spot. I feel very passionate about empowering people to look inside of themselves in order to discover everything they need to live their most meaningful, joyful and authentic life. And it all starts by building a more committed, honest, and loving relationship with yourself. Anyone can do it; the problem is we often sincerely just don’t know how and we need a little help getting started. I’d be honored to help get you on your way.
A bit about me….I’ve always been naturally drawn to learn about the mind, body, and how to be “happy and healthy”. I studied psychology in university, completed my yoga certification program, and delved into the world of spirituality in my early 20’s. I went on to receive my Master’s in Educational Psychology, collected more certifications and knowledge; but still, I knew there was something I was missing. I felt I was living my life on the surface- stuck in collecting more information, stuck in patterns and stuck in routines that made life feel flat, but “safe”.
In hindsight, what I was missing was a deeper awareness of myself and how I was interacting with life. While my yoga training/practice helped to plant the seeds for this, I really didn’t “get it” until I learned and practiced specific mindful awareness techniques that continued to lead me back to myself. This awareness led to self-responsibility (oof, that part was the hardest!), self-responsibility led to my ability to make changes in the right direction, and experiencing the benefits of positive changes led to empowerment and an ever-expanding belief in myself. I have used these tools to navigate through periods of chronic pain, recurrent miscarriages, divorce, death/losses, moves, transitions, relationships, or just really bad days.
Over the past ten years, I have shared the amazing healing tools of yoga and mindfulness with hundreds of people; from elementary school children to retired adults to help enhance their quality of life. The techniques and skills that I teach and use are simple and practical yet powerful and effective when you put them into practice. My greatest strengths as a teacher are my capacity to listen on a deep level, my ability to relate to my students, and to consistently practice what I teach. My intention is to educate, support, inspire, and hold a safe space for you along your own path of self-exploration.
I would be honored to get to know you!
With love and respect,
Kelly
